10. 孔子[ㅣ] 曰 君子ㅣ 有九思니 視思明며 聽思聰며 色思溫며 貌思恭며 言思忠며 事思敬며 疑思問며 忿思難며 見得思義니라

視無所蔽면 則明無不見이요 聽無所壅이면 則聰無不聞이라 色은 見於面者요 貌는 擧身而言이라 思問則疑不蓄이요 思難則忿必懲이요 思義則得不苟니라 ○ 程子曰 九思는 各專其一이니라 謝氏曰 未至於從容中道하여는 無時而不自省察也라 雖有不存焉者라도 寡矣니 此之謂思誠이니라
[언해] ㅣ 샤 군ㅣ 구ㅣ 인니 시에 을 며 에 을 며 에 온을 며 모에 을 며 언에 을 며 에 을 며 의예 문을 며 분에 난을 며 득을 견고 의를 니라
[James Legge] Confucius said, “The superior man has nine things which are subjects with him of thoughtful consideration. In regard to the use of his eyes, he is anxious to see clearly. In regard to the use of his ears, he is anxious to hear distinctly. In regard to his countenance, he is anxious that it should be benign. In regard to his demeanor, he is anxious that it should be respectful. In regard to his speech, he is anxious that it should be sincere. In regard to his doing of business, he is anxious that it should be reverently careful. In regard to what he doubts about, he is anxious to question others. When he is angry, he thinks of the difficulties (his anger may involve him in). When he sees gain to be got, he thinks of righteousness.”
공자께서 말씀하셨다. “군자(君子)는 아홉 가지 생각하는 것이[九思] 있으니, 봄에는 밝게 볼 것을 생각하며[視思明], 들음에는 밝게 들을 것을 생각하며[聽思聰], 얼굴빛은 온화하게 할 것을 생각하며[色思溫], 모습은 공손하게 할 것을 생각하며[貌思恭], 말함에는 진실하게 할 것을 생각하며[言思忠], 일함에는 신중하게 할 것을 생각하며[事思敬], 의심스러울 때에는 물어볼 것을 생각하며[疑思問], 분할 때에는 후일에 어려움에 처하게 될 것을 생각하며[忿思難], 얻을 것을 볼 때에는 의로운 것인가를 생각한다[見得思義].”
